Grace Fellowship Church is prayerfully searching for our next Care Pastor to lead our Care Ministry team.  The ideal candidate will be a Jesus follower with a passion for sharing the gospel, as well as a proven track record of success in Care Ministry or a closely related role.

The Role

The Care Pastor provides leadership to a ministry ensuring appropriate care needs are met across the congregation. Under the authority of the Executive Pastor, the Care Pastor utilizes the resources of the care ministries to serve as a first line of response to care needs within the body of Grace Fellowship.  The Care Pastor provides vision and implementation of policies and programs to ensure pastoral care and crises needs for the church.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other members of the Pastoral/Leadership Team to fulfill the overall mission and vision of Grace Fellowship.
    • Works together with the Leadership Team to help prayerfully and strategically achieve our life-time faith goals.
    • Shares the pastoral load as needed and serve rotating shepherding functions for the whole congregation. These responsibilities include weddings, funerals, short-term counseling, Giving Back to God, closing prayer, praying with people, and serving in roles in the worship service as needed.
  • Serves as a team player on staff and the larger church body using his/her gifts to help the body function healthily. The Care Pastor has a “whatever it takes” attitude and seeks to serve fellow members of the body.
  • Equips, shepherds, and disciples staff and lay leaders to provide care to the congregation of Grace Fellowship as well as serving those not yet part of the Grace family. This includes overseeing leaders of biblically based care centered courses and one-on-one care programs. 
  • Operates within, prayerfully manages and oversees the creation of the Care Ministries budget and resources. Responsible for Grace Fellowship’s Care Ministries resources and ensures these are prayerfully and strategically directed for maximum eternal value and Kingdom impact.
  • Leads the care staff, volunteer leaders and collaboratively with other Grace ministries to care for the Grace community. Each of Grace’s pastors aim for a lifestyle of modeling and teaching cascading leadership and relational discipleship.
  • Oversee and ensure timely handling of hospital visits, memorials, funerals, and weddings by providing emotional and spiritual care and officiating at the services.
  • Use his/her God given gifts, talents, passions and experiences to offer leadership to existing ministries, in alignment with our mission/vision and values at Grace Fellowship and the value of Care Evangelism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s, degree in ministry related field of study such as biblical counseling, soul care, or another care focused field such as psychology, nursing or social work, etc.
  • Experience working in a church demonstrating a heart for serving and caring for the congregation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • The Care Pastor is to make Grace Fellowship Church his/her regularly attended home church.

 

Additional Information

Salary & Benefits                                                                                                                                                      

The salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is an exempt, salaried position. Grace Fellowship’s benefits are outlined in the Employee Handbook, but currently include paid vacation, church-paid health insurance for employee-only coverage, life insurance, long & short-term disability insurance, and a 403(b) plan.

Working Hours

The Care Pastor is encouraged to develop a working schedule that maximizes both time with family and productive time accomplishing the job.  The position is a minimum of 40 hours per week. The work week is Sunday – Thursday, but the nature of the responsibilities will at times require ministry time outside of typical office hours.

Work Authorization

The Care Pastor must be authorized to work in United States under Federal requirements.
