Job Title: Program Coordinator – Safe Schools, Safe Kids, Safe Communities
Organization: The Mavuno Project
Employment Type: Part-time (30 hours per week)
Salary Range: $24,000 - $30,000 per year
Benefits: Hybrid work (as workload deems fit), paid time off, holidays off 

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator will oversee the operational implementation of the Safe Schools, Safe Kids, Safe Communities program, ensuring successful program delivery, community engagement, and compliance with funding requirements. This role involves school and community outreach, event coordination, grant reporting, fundraising and volunteer supervision.

Responsibilities:

Program & School Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with schools and partner organizations.

  • Schedule and coordinate at least two school presentations per month throughout the school year.

  • Maintain and organize all teacher and school communication lists for outreach and engagement.

  • Collect and track teacher emails for future collaboration and follow-ups.

  • Gather and document observation data and student engagement numbers from school presentations.

  • Assist in preparing volunteer asks for partnered organizations as needed.

  • Attend teacher networking events, conferences, and host table setups.

  • Attend and assist with booth events and other community outreach opportunities.

  • Assist the CEO with all organizational needs, including event planning and logistics.

Development & Fundraising:

  • Assist in strategizing and planning for The Mavuno Project’s biggest annual events, including Give Miami Day and community outreach events, Kids & Teachers United.

  • Identify funding opportunities for the Safe Schools, Safe Kids, Safe Communities program.

Community & Partner Engagement:

  • Develop and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders, including schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.

  • Represent The Mavuno Project at networking events, conferences, and fundraising activities.

Financial Oversight & Reporting:

  • Process and submit monthly reimbursements for grants and Mavuno payroll.

  • Prepare program reports, including those that are funder-prescribed.

Supervision & Compliance:

  • Supervise program staff and volunteers, providing oversight on program planning, implementation, and coordination.

  • Ensure compliance with program and grant requirements.

  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in Human Trafficking prevention.

  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, consultants, business communities, and partner organizations, while cultivating new relationships as needed.

  • Attend meetings with affinity groups focused on Human Trafficking and nonprofit development, representing the organization professionally.

  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for all program participants.

  • Serve as an Ambassador of The Mavuno Project personally and on social media platforms.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Education or related field) with at least two years of experience in nonprofit work.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Willingness to consider candidates with relevant education but no experience.

  • Commitment to ending violence against children.

  • Proven ability to prepare federal grant reports and other correspondence required by funders.

  • Experience conducting community outreach for program promotion and public education.

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as necessary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google products (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive).
